Please let us introduce ourselves. Maine Dental Laboratory

was founded in 1961 by George Pilidis.  George retired in 1976 after turning the lab over to Michael Vavra Sr. who is its current President. Steven Goldstein opened our Removeable Department in 1988, making us a full service laboratory. In 2006, day to day operations were assumed by Michael Vavra Jr., Vice President. Our laboratory has spanned three generations, two of them family owned and operated.

Our business model has always been personal service. Unlike

many laboratories we don’t just talk a good game. We make it

our business. Our case pans are labeled with the Dentists’ name, not a case number.

Quite a few laboratories advertise “Family Owned“. What exactly does that mean? At Maine Dental Laboratory it means that the owner trims your dies, sets your contacts and equilibrates your occlusals.
